Post 11: This Week in Science (No Impact Man)

    In science our class we watched a movie called "No Impact Man" and it talks bout how to use stuff in their house instead of buying more stuff that they don't really need and keep spending their money.It means eating vegetarian,buying only local foods,turning off the refrigerator and etc.It's basically of stop using things that waste your time that you do everyday.We had to write notes in our notebooks about what we think about the movie.
  I think the no impact man's behavior lower his negative impact on the environment by not using the refrigerator to keep food and drinks cold and fresh.Since they don't use their refrigerator,they use a small cooler to put ice and stuff that they need the most to keep them fresh to eat.
  My reactions about this film that why they couldn't use their hands to wash clothes instead of washing it with their feet in the tub with water.I was shock because of them washing their clothes in the tub,cooking vegetables and cutting up fruits for the fruit flies and worms in the box that they got from outside.

Post 10: This Week in Science (Fruit Fly DYO Part 1)

  In this week in science David and Marc had us in 2 tables with 3 groups in the classroom.So our side did a chart in our notebooks of week 1 and we had to notice in 2 group about what's happening in our fruit fly tube.I notice about Selena's tube that it's a lot of larva's crawling around in the food and like 2 fruit flies alive so we only had a couple of minutes to do that.

So we had to switch to the other station to the science lab to do a line graph and a bar graph that have to do with our fruit flies.The other group was in the science lab doing graphing and now they have to see what's happening in their fruit flies tube.


 I learned that fruit flies have to be in room temperature and they love eating different kind of  fresh fruits and vegetables.

Post 9: This week in science (Fruit Flies Part 2)

   This week in science my group and I did a chart of the rate in growth of fruit flies to see if our Male,Female & Female flies make babies but,it's like the whole generation.David fed our spider with the fruit flies,so the fruit fly caught in the web so our spider clumsy crawled to the fruit fly fast and started wrapping it with the web for a long time then the spider just put it on top of his stomach.

One thing I did in science was putting the fruit flies in our tube to see how much babies would it be on 3 weeks.I notice that a little bit of our insects in our tank is alive like the worms and centipedes.I also notice that our spider clumsy made a spider web on the sticks and he's hanging up side down and in our 2 females and 1 male tube we have 1 larva in the food.I hope my group get more larva's like around 24.
  This week in science I learned that male fruit flies are hairy and females are light at the bottom.I also learned about fruit flies that when you wanna use them to count,you have to use fly nap to put them to sleep for like 40 mins.
